Enjoying the Classics at Colby

This month for movie night the resident watched the Sound of Music.  So many residents were singing along with Julie Andrews.  Do you remember Sixteen going on Seventeen or Do-Re-Mi? What about Edelweiss or My Favorite Things?  But maybe Climb Ev’ry Mountain will bring back the classic musical that came out in 1965.  The film was based on the book The story of the Trapp Family Singers by Maria von Trapp.   The film is about a young woman who leaves an Austrian convent to become a governess to the seven children of a naval officer who is a widower during World War II.  While watching the movie, the residents reminisced and enjoyed popcorn.

Maybe after reading this blog it will spark you to watch this classic film.  If you do,   I believe you will be singing to the songs like we were.  I’m not sure what movie will be on next month, but I’m sure it will be a classic like the Sound of Music.
